Hostage situation
Another unsubscribe UX gripe here. This time, coming from my Reebok emails. I don’t really know why I’ve always received Reebok emails. I get them every week. Sometimes more often. I think I bought someone a pair once and have received useless spam ever since.
I decided today was the day that this would change. Today was the first day of the rest of my life… a life without constant Reebok spam. Rejoice! I eagerly hit the ‘unsubscribe’ link. This is where the user experience begins to unravel. Firstly, this link took me to a Reebok webpage that did not unsubscribe me. Instead, the page confusingly says “sorry we missed the mark” - is it that hard to unsubscibe me from your database? Okay fine. I notice underneath this title there is yet another ‘unsubscribe’ link, so I hit this. Nope! Now a new blank Reebok page simply states, “Sorry, something went wrong”. There are no additional steps. Just a link to ‘take me back to the homepage’. Useless! I give up.
To this day, I am still held hostage by weekly - if not almost daily - unnecessary, unwanted, bloody Reebok spam emails. Damn you, Reebok!
